Chenango Lake is a small clear lake located in north-eastern Chenango County near the City of Norwich. The Norwich Water Department uses Chenango Lake as a reserve water supply reservoir.

The lake currently (10/8/22) has a harmful algae bloom in many areas.
Per the County health department no pets should be allowed in the water. No one should drink or cook with the water. People should consider not washing with or bathing in the water. Fish caught in the water should not be eaten. We expect that with colder weather the problem should end. There is no treatment for the algae problem.
